Rare photograph INSCRIBED and dated by Rabin to Ernest W. Michel on June 26, 1995, and by Bill Clinton on the same date. SIGNED by Arafat at a later date, prior to his address to the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Accompanied by letter of provenance from Ernest W. Michel.  The preamble to the Oslo Agreement reads as follows: “The Government of the State of Israel and the Palestinian team representing the Palestinian people agree that it is time to put an end to decades of confrontation and conflict, recognize their mutual legitimate and political rights, and strive to live in peaceful coexistence and mutual dignity and security to achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive peace settlement and historic reconciliation through the agreed political process.”


The Accords were finalized in Oslo, Norway on August 20, 1993, and officially signed at a public ceremony in Washington. D.C on September 13, 1993, with Mahmoud Abbas signing for the PLO and Shimon Peres signing for the State of Israel in the presence of Clinton, Rabin, and Arafat.
